BEIJING, June 14 (Xinhua) -- The Xi'an Silk Road International Financial Center has been announced to be built in Xi’an High-tech Industrial Development Zone on June 12, which will play a significant role in building the area into a world-class high-tech industrial park.
According to Han Hongli, deputy director of the zone’s administrative committee, the core area of the center will be located at the Central Innovation District which lies in the southern part of the high-tech zone and cover 2 square kilometes.
Han said the planning area of the CID will cover 15 square kilometers with the purpose of attracting innovation enterprises all over the world to settle their headquarters. The basic idea of planning and construction of the district is to nurture an ecological town with water and greenery.
“The CID will redefine the development mode of the new technology district with a clear, perfect, integrative and interactive functional layout and will provide livable, suitable, innovative and entrepreneurial conditions for people and enterprises all over the world to come to innovate and develop,” Han explained.
The zone will start the construction of the financial center on June 14, as the core pilot area of the CID with a super high-level landmark building cluster named the Pupil of the Future.
Pupil of the Future is designed with 30 hectares of wetland garden, a 666-meter high-rise, a 520-meter high rise, a 369-meter high rise and dozens of 200 to 300-meter high rise buildings for working and living.
Theaters, concert halls, an art gallery and air landscape footpath are also designed to be built in the building group.
Xi’an High-tech Industrial Development Zone is one of the country’s top zones established in 1991 with the approval of the State Council and has been the local economic engine with more than 30 percent annual economic growth rate in the past 27 years.
