BEIJING, June 8 (Xinhua) – Nearly two dozen universities and colleges in Shenyang, the largest city in northeast China’s Liaoning Province, joined the University Alliance of Belt and Road on Thursday, local newspaper reported Friday.
The signing ceremony, which also marked the launch of the alliance’s Shenyang chapter, took place in Lanzhou, the capital of western province of Gansu.
Established in October 2015, the University Alliance of Belt and Road was a partnership under the Belt and Road Initiative to promote exchanges in the education sector.
