On May 23, 2018, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) issued a report named 2018 Global Trade: Securing Future Growth. The report showed that the outlook for the development of global trade finance is generally optimistic, and the traditional trade finance and supply chain finance are strategic focus for development in the coming year, however, regulatory compliance such as anti-terrorist financing, growing protectionism and trade restrictions remains the obstacles to the development of trade finance.
The report pointed out digital development has been increasingly brought into the core strategic consideration of banks. The ICC calls for closer cooperation between the trade and finance sectors in digital era.
Due to China's pivotal position in the global economy and its powerful role in promoting global trade, the report noted that the ICC Global Trade Finance Survey on the 10th Anniversary of the issue of special topics presented China's trade finance and trade globalization.
