BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) will comprehensively revise the industry regulations and access conditions for the non-ferrous metals including copper, aluminum, lead, zinc, tungsten, molybdenum, tin and magnesium this year, China Nonferrous Metals News reported on Tuesday.
The move is aimed at clarifying the industry norms, encouraging and guiding the industry restructuring and upgrading, and increasing the threshold for technology, energy consumption and environmental protection.
In addition, relevant departments will also promote development of non-ferrous metal new materials, strengthen coordination of the upstream producers and the downstream users, establish demonstration platforms for the production and application of new energy vehicles, and non-ferrous metal industry inspection and testing centers, according to the report.
In terms of the environmental protection, the country will encourage breakthroughs and promotion of technologies such as emission control, solid waste harmless treatment, emission reduction of sulfide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matters.
