BRUSSELS, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- The jobless rate in the 19-country Eurozone remained unchanged at 9.8 percent in November, official data showed Monday, holding on to the lowest rate since July 2009.
A total of 15,000 people in the single currency zone found jobs in November, compared with the previous month, said Eurostat, the statistic agency of the European Union (EU).
In the wider 28-country EU, the unemployment rate in November stood at 8.3 percent, down from the 8.4 percent in October as 41,000 people were employed in November, said Eurostat.
Eurostat estimated that 20.429 million people in the EU, of whom 15.898 million were in the Eurozone, were still unemployed in November.
It varied widely at a country level, as the Czech Republic and Germany saw the lowest rates of 3.7 percent and 4.1 percent respectively, while the debt-ridden Greece recorded highest rate of 23.1 percent, followed by Spain with 19.2 percent.
Economists cautioned that Europe's labour market only experienced a gradual recovery and business data suggested that Eurozone was expected to see a slowdown in employment growth in the future.
