BEIJING, May 24 (Xinhua) -- China Transport Telecommunications & Information Center (CTTIC) and Airbus have jointly established an international joint laboratory on remote sensing recently, making a crucial step in the application of radar remote sensing technology in China's traffic integration.
CTTIC and Airbus have inked a cooperation agreement, under which the two sides will deepen cooperation in such fields as infrastructure deformation monitoring and scientific maintenance base on the newly-established lab.
The use of radar remote sensing technology to monitor the transportation infrastructure and discover potential safety hazards is of great significance for safe traffic operations.
Cao Desheng, director of CTTIC, said that radar remote sensing technology had achieved fruitful results in China's traffic applications in recent years. The next step is to deeply integrate radar remote sensing with industry big data, and provide diversified services in the fields of key road slope and bridge deformation monitoring, high-speed railway daily maintenance management, and traffic disaster emergency, Cao said.
