BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The government of Djibouti has given permission to GCL Group to establish natural gas pipeline system in the country, said chairman of GCL Group Zhu Gongshan on May 15.
From May 9 to May 13, Zhu Gongshan paid a working visit to Ethiopia and Djibouti and discussed the “Ethiopia-Djibouti oil and natural gas” project with relative parties. During his visit, GCL Group and Djibouti signed a gas pipeline project development agreement.
According to the agreement, the future oil and gas produced in the Ogaden Basin of Ethiopia is planned to be exported through the natural gas pipeline system. The agreement stipulates that the government of Djibouti agrees that GCL Group can build natural gas pipelines in the country, and that the investor will be responsible for the implementation of the oil pipeline project, including the construction, operation and transfer of the pipeline system.
