BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- 2018 Global Service Outsourcing Summit (GSOS) will be held in south China’s Zhuhai from June 8 to June 9. Over 400 representatives from ministries, China’s 31 service outsourcing model cities and well-known outsourcing companies of 20 countries will attend the summit.
The summit, hosted by Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC) of the Ministry of Commerce, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government, is one of the most influential summits in global service outsourcing field.
Over the past five years, the service outsourcing industry in Zhuhai has maintained a continuous growth of more than 30 percent, ranking the fifth in Guangdong province. By far, there are 174 companies engaged in service outsourcing. In 2017, 268 million U.S. dollars worth of projects were implemented in 2017, up 47.9 percent year on year.
An official from Zhuhai Bureau of Commerce noted that the summit is aimed at establishing Zhuhai’s image in service outsourcing industry and increase its global competitiveness. (Edited by Mao Ye, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
