BEIJING, May 10 (Xinhua) – The Agricultural Bank of China (ABC) officially opened a branch in Hanoi, Vietnam on Thursday.
The branch will focus on providing comprehensive financial services to Sino-Vietnam cooperation projects in fields like infrastructure, economic and trade exchanges, capacity cooperation, cross-border economic cooperation zones, and agriculture.
In recent years, with further advancement of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Vietnam, the two countries have continuously carried out pragmatic cooperation in dovetailing the “Belt and Road Initiatives” with the “Two Corridors and One Economic Circle” and achieved fruitful results, said Yin Haihong, Charged’ Affaires of the Embassy of China in Vietnam, said at the opening ceremony of the Hanoi branch.
Yin believes that the establishment of the Hanoi branch will effectively promote China-Vietnam financial cooperation and pragmatic cooperation in multiple fields.
Southeast Asia is an important target market of the ABC, one of the four state-owned banks of China. The lender established a representative office in Hanoi as early as in 2012, said Gong Chao, vice president of the ABC.
Tn the future, the Hanoi branch will actively provide financial support to Vietnam’s economic growth and economic and trade cooperation between China and Vietnam in accordance with related laws and regulations, offer quality financial services to companies in Vietnam, and achieve win-win cooperation with Vietnam counterparts, said Gong Chao.
