China imported 17,668.2 tons of spirits from January to March 2018, an increase of 21.1 percent year on year. The imports amounted to 293.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 40.2 percent year on year. The average price was 16,583.8 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 15.8 percent year on year.
In March alone, China imported 5,441.1 tons of spirits, an increase of 40.3 percent month on month. The imports amounted to 90.8 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 58.4 percent month on month. The average price was 16,693.4 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 12.9 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was a decrease of 6.4 percent in quantity, an increase of 22.9 percent in value, and an increase of 31.3 percent in average price.
In terms of import origin by continents, Asia exported 1,581.0 tons of spirits to China from January to March 2018, an increase of 3.8 percent year on year, or 28.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 65.3 percent year on year, at an average price of 17,699.4 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 59.3 percent year on year; Africa exported 65.5 tons, an increase of 435.9 percent year on year, or 174,432 U.S. dollars, an increase of 182.1 percent year on year, at an average price of 2,664.6 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 47.4 percent year on year; Europe exported 14,669.6 tons, an increase of 24.0 percent year on year, or 258.8 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 38.5 percent year on year, at an average price of 17,639.2 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 11.7 percent year on year; South America exported 470.0 tons, a decrease of 23.0 percent year on year, or 2.3 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 11.5 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,808.1 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 15.0 percent year on year; North America exported 875.5 tons, an increase of 44.7 percent year on year, or 3.7 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 48.0 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,277.0 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 2.3 percent year on year; Oceania exported 6.6 tons, an increase of 53.0 percent year on year, or 84,531 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 1.7 percent year on year, at an average price of 12,870.1 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 35.8 percent year on year.
In March alone, Asia exported 535.4 tons of spirits, a decrease of 40.8 percent year on year, or 6.9 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 17.1 percent year on year, at an average price of 12,819.8 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 40.1 percent year on year; Africa exported 24.3 tons, an increase of 169.2 percent year on year, or 89,334 U.S. dollars, an increase of 446.5 percent year on year, at an average price of 3,677.2 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 103.0 percent year on year; Europe exported 4,316.4 tons, a decrease of 4.4 percent year on year, or 81.5 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 27.8 percent year on year, at an average price of 18,886.6 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 33.7 percent year on year; South America exported 184.5 tons, an increase of 0.8 percent year on year, or 912,268 U.S. dollars, an increase of 2.9 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,944.7 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 2.1 percent year on year; North America exported 378.8 tons, an increase of 89.3 percent year on year, or 1.4 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 49.0 percent year on year, at an average price of 3,743.4 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 21.3 percent year on year; Oceania exported 1.7 tons, an increase of 100.5 percent year on year, or 24,567 U.S. dollars, an increase of 13.8 percent year on year, at an average price of 14,135.2 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 43.2 percent year on year.
Among all the countries and regions that exported spirits to China from January to March 2018, in terms of value, France ranked first with 217.4 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 38.0 percent year on year; the United Kingdom ranked second with 33.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 43.6 percent year on year.
In March alone, France ranked first with value of 68.8 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 31.7 percent year on year; the United Kingdom ranked second with value of 9.9 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.4 percent year on year; Taiwan ranked third with value of 2.6 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 19.2 percent year on year.
