China exported 759.7 tons of pu-er tea from January to March 2018, an increase of 47.2 percent year on year. The value of China's pu-er tea exports amounted to 6.6 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 82.4 percent year on year. The average price was 8,626.2 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 23.9 percent year on year.
In March alone, China exported 236.3 tons of pu-er tea, an increase of 58.2 percent month on month. The exports amounted to 2.1 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 50.9 percent month on month. The average price was 8,839.1 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 4.6 percent month on month. Compared with March 2017, there was an increase of 47.2 percent in quantity, an increase of 36.2 percent in value, and a decrease of 7.5 percent in average price.
Among all the countries and regions that imported pu-er tea from China, ranking by value, Hong Kong ranked first with 2.4 million U.S. dollars from January to March 2018, an increase of 327.1 percent year on year; the Republic of Korea ranked second with 765,246 U.S. dollars, an increase of 44.9 percent year on year ; Taiwan ranked third with 690,547 U.S. dollars, an increase of 699.3 percent year on year.
In March alone, Hong Kong ranked first with value of 1.0 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 916.1 percent year on year; the Republic of Korea ranked second with value of 385,994 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 24.6 percent year on year; Malaysia ranked third with value of 223,827 U.S. dollars, a decrease of 59.8 percent year on year.
