BEIJING, May 9 (Xinhua) – Hangzhou, capital of east China’s Zhejiang Province, planed to add 100,000 natural gas users each year.
Zhu Qinjun, vice-general manager of Hangzhou Gas Group, introduced that at present Hangzhou Gas Group directly serves over 1.3 million users, benefiting more than 4.5 million people, and the annual gas supply scale reaches about 1.1 billion cubic meters.
With increases in the use of clean energy, the proportion of coal consumption in Hangzhou dropped to about 28.9 percent by the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), which to some extent promoted the transformation of Hangzhou’s energy structure.
It is necessary for the city to accelerate the use of primary clean energy such as natural gas, said Zhu, adding that Hangzhou is scheduled to add 100,000 natural gas users each year while ensuring the supply safety of natural gas.
