LONDON, May 4 (Xinhua) -- The brand value of China's airline companies has continuously increased that a total of three airlines in China has entered the top ten global brands in 2018, according to a report on 2018 global aviation brands value released by Brand Finance, a British brand consultancy firm.
The report showed that China Southern Airlines is still the leader of the Chinese aviation brand and its brand value has increased by 10 percent on year to 4.1 billion U.S. dollars. Followed by China Eastern Airlines, its brand value has increased by 21 percent to 3.8 billion U.S. dollars, and China International Airlines has increased by 19 percent to 3.4 billion U.S. dollars.
Although US airlines still occupy the top three and the 5th place in the brand rankings, their brand values are declining year-on-year, dropping by 2 percent to 12 percent respectively.
David Haigh, CEO of Brand Finance, said that Chinese brands are the biggest winners in the aviation market, because they can grow alongside the Chinese economy and give consumers greater confidence in their reliability and safety. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
