BEIJING, May 3 (Xinhua) -- China imported 17,668.2 tonnes of spirits from January to March, 2018, up 21.1 percent year on year, according to a monthly report jointly released by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's spirits imports amounted to 293.005 million U.S. dollars during the period, up 40.2 percent on year.
In March alone, China imported 5,441.1 tonnes of spirits, down 6.4 percent year on year.
From January to March, 2018, among all the countries and regions that export spirits to China, France ranked the first by 217.358 million U.S. dollar value of spirits, up 38 percent year on year followed by the United Kingdom with value of 33.586 million U.S. dollars.
In March, 2018, France ranked first with a value of 68.814 million U.S. dollars, followed by the United Kingdom and Taiwan. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
