BEIJING, May. 2 (Xinhua) -- China imported 106,698.4 metric tons (tonnes) of chicken and its products, an increase of 4.6 percent year on year from January to March this year, according to a monthly report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's chicken and its products imports amounted to about 250.276 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 9.7 percent year on year.
In March, China imported 46,523.9 tonnes of chicken and its products, an increase of 52.9 percent month on month and the value of China's chicken and its products imports amounted to 106.955 million U.S. dollars, up 44.5 percent month on month.
According to the report, Brazil ranked first by value in March, among all the countries and regions that exported chicken and its products to China, with the chicken and its products export worth 91.739 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 38.7 percent year on year.
