BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- China exported 1,639.5 metric tons (tonnes) of flavoured tea in the first quarter of the year, an increase of 14.9 percent year on year, according to a monthly report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's flavoured tea exports during the period amounted to about 14.91 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 53.2 percent year on year.
In March, 2018, China exported 491.6 tonnes of flavoured tea, down 13.2 percent month on month and the value of China's flavoured tea exports amounted to about 3.86 million U.S. dollars, down 10.2 percent month on month.
According to the report, in March, Japan ranked first by value, among all the countries and regions that imported flavoured tea from China, with the flavoured tea imports worth about 1.14 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 96.4 percent year on year. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
