BEIJING, May 2 (Xinhua) -- China exported 70,373.9 metric tons (tonnes) of green tea in the first quarter of the year, a decrease of 2.3 percent year on year, according to a monthly report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's green tea exports during the period amounted to about 261.61 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 3.9 percent year on year.
In March, 2018, China exported 20,822.8 tonnes of green tea, down 12.6 percent month on month and the value of China's green tea exports amounted to about 77.63 million U.S. dollars, down 8.3 percent month on month.
According to the report, in March, Morocco ranked first by value, among all the countries and regions that imported green tea from China, with the green tea imports worth about 18.98 million U.S. dollars, down 14.3 percent year on year. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
