BEIJING, Apr. 16 (Xinhua)--Xinhua Silk Road, China’s state information service platform focusing on the Belt and Road Initiative under Xinhua News Agency, launches reports on business environment of Yunnan and Shaanxi respectively on Monday.
Yunnan is a border province in southwest China and a gateway to Southeast Asia and South Asia. The report, named Yunnan’s Business Environment & Assessment Report (2017), shows that the abundant resource advantage is one of the most important factors for the province to attract foreign investment. However, the relatively lagged infrastructure construction has hindered the development of large-scale foreign companies. At present, Yunnan has introduced a number of measures to accelerate the construction of infrastructure and build an open economy with mutual benefit, win-win, security, and high efficiency.
The report suggests investors seek investment opportunities in the areas of rubber, sugar, flower, non-ferrous metal smelting and deep processing, new energy and tourism.
Shaanxi’s Business Environment & Assessment Report (2017) points out that, as an important hub for the construction of the Belt and Road and the frontier of Opening to the West, Shaanxi Province has a great location and policy advantage in attracting investment. Investors can pay attention to advantageous industries such as equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, non-ferrous metallurgy, and strategic emerging industries in the province.
The two reports are a part of a series of reports published by Xinhua Silk Road on the business environment of 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions on Chinese mainland. The reports, updated and released annually, follow the changes of business environment and aim to help overseas investors find business opportunities in China.
In the future, Xinhua Silk Road will release more domestic and overseas business environment information and analysis reports, provide relevant database service. It also regularly releases Belt and Road Weekly, which focuses on the latest development of the Belt and Road Initiative and showcases the achievements and opportunities to the international community.
Xinhua Silk Road was officially launched in July 2015. The platform currently provides products and services covering a Chinese-English bilingual database, a Chinese-English bilingual web portal, research, consulting and think-tank services.
