BOAO, Hainan, April 10 (Xinhua) -- China has ranked the ninth in Asia by overall competitiveness for five consecutive years, according to a recent report about the Asian competitiveness released at the annual conference of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA).
The “Four Asian Tigers” including the economies of Singapore, Hong Kong, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan have occupied the top four positions in the comprehensive competitiveness of Asian economies for the seventh consecutive year.
The report has assessed 37 Asian and Pacific regional economies including Australia and New Zealand.
The report shows that the ranking of major economies in Asia in 2017 remained relatively stable. Traditional advanced economies such as Australia, Israel, Japan, and New Zealand still maintained a relatively strong level of competitiveness, ranking fifth to eighth. China and Bahrain ranked 9th and 10th, respectively. (Contributed by Yurui, Chen Biqi, edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
