BEIJING, Apr. 3 (Xinhua) -- China imported 4,099.6 tonnes of black tea from January to February, 2018 , an increase of 19.7 percent year on year, according to a monthly report jointly released by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's black tea imports amounted to 16.77 million U.S. dollars during the period, an increase of 21.3 percent on year, at an average price of 4,090.6 U.S. dollars per tonne, up 1.3 percent year on year.
In February alone, China imported 1,324.9 tonnes of black tea with a value of 6.006 million U.S. dollars, down 32.2 percent and 25.9 percent year on year, respectively.
From January to February, 2018, among all the countries and regions that export black tea to China, Sri Lanka ranked the first by 8.815 million U.S. dollars in value of black tea, up 38.6 percent year on year. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
