BEIJING, Apr. 2 (Xinhua) -- China imported 5,997.7 metric tons (tonnes) of brandy in the first two months of 2018, an increase of 35.6 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's brandy imports amounted to 147.713 million U.S. dollars in January to February, an increase of 40.9 percent year on year. The average price was 24,628.3 U.S. dollars per tonne, an increase of 3.9 percent year on year.
China imported 1,949 tonnes of brandy in February, 2018, a decrease of 51.9 percent month on month. The value of China's brandy imports amounted to 41.732 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 60.6 percent month on month. The average price was 21,411.7 U.S. dollars per tonne, a decrease of 18.2 percent month on month.
Compared with February 2017, there was a decrease of 1.2 percent in quantity, a decrease of 12.1 percent in value, and a decrease of 11 percent in average price. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
