BEIJING, Apr. 2 (Xinhua) -- China exported 5,097.7 metric tons (tonnes) of black tea in the first two months of the year, a decline of 12 percent year on year, according to a month report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's black tea exports during the period amounted to about 35.59 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 22.6 percent year on year.
In February, 2018, China exported 2,612.6 tonnes of black tea, up 5.1 percent month on month and the value of China's black tea exports amounted to about 13.16 million U.S. dollars, down 41.3 percent month on month.
According to the report, in February, the USA ranked first by value, among all the countries and regions that imported black tea from China, with the black tea imports worth about 2.7 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 52 percent year on year. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
