BEIJING, Apr. 2 (Xinhua) -- China exported 2,852.8 metric tons (tonnes) of oolong tea in the first two months of the year, an increase of 23.8 percent year on year, according to a monthly report released jointly by Xinhua Silk Road and China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce (CFNA).
The value of China's oolong tea exports during the period amounted to about 25 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 83.3 percent year on year.
In February, 2018, China exported 1,169.6 tonnes of oolong tea, down 30.5 percent month on month and the value of China's oolong tea exports amounted to about 7.7 million U.S. dollars, down 55.4 percent month on month.
According to the report, in February, Japan ranked first by value, among all the countries and regions that imported oolong tea from China, with the oolong tea imports worth about 2.52 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.8 percent year on year. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
