CHENGDU, Mar. 27 (Xinhua) -- Luzhou will make innovative efforts through three measures to promote high-quality development of the liquor industry and continue to enhance its core competitiveness, said Cao Junjie, Executive Vice Mayor of Luzhou, on the 2018 China International Alcoholic Drinks Industry Development Forum which took place on March 25 in Luzhou, a city located in southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
Cao noted that “in specific, Luzhou plans to develop the liquor industry through building a world-class high-quality baijiu source area, and forging a world-leading baijiu brand agglomeration area by enhancing market orientation and improving local brands,” said Cao.
He added that Luzhou will employ its blessed advantages to construct a production base for high-quality liquor-making raw materials, develop pure grain solid state fermentation and advance intelligent fermentation, in a bid to build a core liquor production area of world level.
According to Cao, Luzhou will vigorously cultivate its core brands, speed up marketing and comprehensively advance brand innovation so as to upgrade its core competitiveness.
Luzhou is an important baijiu production and sales area in China and one of the world's top 10 hard liquor production areas. In 2017, the main revenue of Luzhou’s liquor industry grew 20 percent year on year to 80.78 billion yuan. (Edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
