BEIJING, Mar. 26 (Xinhua)--North Functional Food Industrial Park, a large agricultural investment project, held a ground-breaking ceremony in Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone on March 20.
With investment of 4.5 billion yuan (710.65 million U.S. dollars), the park will cover an area of 33.33 hectares in Yuci district, Jinzhong city which is included in Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Zone. It aims to develop into a smart eco-agriculture and technology city over the next three years.
The park will construct five areas including food R&D, production and display areas, nine centers with various uses including for industrial and commercial tax services and exhibitions -- setting an example to boost the upgrading of functional food companies in Shanxi and beyond.
