Chapter I. Summary
China exported 25,732.9 tons of green tea in January 2018, a decrease of 4.3 percent month on month. The export value amounted to 99.35 million U.S. dollars, a decrease of 5.2 percent month on month. The average price was 3,860.7 U.S. dollars per ton, a decrease of 0.9 percent month on month. Compared with January 2017, there was an increase of 0.6 percent in quantity, an increase of 15.9 percent in value, and an increase of 15.2 percent in average price.
In terms of export destination by continent, Asia imported 5,688.9 tons of green teas in January 2018, a decrease of 7.6 percent year on year, or 27.7 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 32.4 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,868.3 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 43.4 percent year on year; Africa imported 16,374.7 tons, an increase of 5.9 percent year on year, or 54.77 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 9.4 percent year on year, at an average price of 3,344.5 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 3.3 percent year on year; Europe imported 3,068.2 tons, a decrease of 10.6 percent year on year, or 12.24 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 3.2 percent year on year, at an average price of 3,988.3 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 15.4 percent year on year; South America imported 66.2 tons, a decrease of 7.1 percent year on year, or 0.33 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 34.6 percent year on year, at an average price of 4,977.8 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 44.8 percent year on year; North America imported 500.7 tons, an increase of 22.1 percent year on year, or 3.88 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 70.3 percent year on year, at an average price of 7,746.2 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 39.4 percent year on year; Oceania imported 34.0 tons, a decrease of 5.3 percent year on year, or 0.44 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 27.0 percent year on year, at an average price of 12,967.9 U.S. dollars per ton, an increase of 34.2 percent year on year.
Among all the countries and regions that imported green tea from China, in terms of value, Morocco ranked first with 22.27 million U.S. dollars in January 2018, a decrease of 3.3 percent year on year; Hong Kong ranked second with 8.18 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 85.4 percent year on year; Senegal ranked third with 6.14 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 129.0 percent year on year.
