BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- China’s General Administration of Customs (GAC) has recently released the customs clearance cooperation action plan under the Belt and Road (2018-2020), in an effort to constantly enhance efficiency of the customs clearance along the Belt and Road routes.
According to yidaiyilu.gov.cn, under the action plan, 17 specific measures are laid down with the “information exchange, supervision mutual recognition and assistance in law enforcement” as the key points.
China will promote building of the customs coordination and liaison mechanism to carry out communications and coordination, share experience and form the customs cooperation circle with countries along the Belt and Road.
Meanwhile, China will advance trade facilitation and security cooperation with the countries along the Belt and Road routes. It will release the plan of customs cooperation on the key ports along the Belt and Road, promote linkage of the “Maritime Silk Road”, and support implementation of the coastal international transport corridor projects.
It will further improve the domestic customs clearance environment, enhance opening-up of the ports along the routes, and support construction of the Belt and Road opening-up platforms including the Belt and Road comprehensive experimental areas, cross-border economic cooperation zones, and the Sino-Kazakhstan international logistics base in China's eastern port city Lianyungang.
In addition, the country will deepen the national customs clearance integration reform and create more convenient and efficient customs clearance environment for the Belt and Road construction, according to the action plan. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
