BEIJING -- Germany's Siemens AG announced on Thursday the establishment of a new joint venture with Guangzhou Suikai Power Co Ltd in the capital of Guangdong province, aiming to further increase its presence in the mainland market.

Markus Mildner, executive vice-president of Siemens Ltd China, said the German company is China's best partner in the transformation of the energy sector.

"The cooperation between Siemens and Suikai will give full play to our respective advantages in facilitating our offering of innovative energy solutions to local commercial buildings, industrial parks, public utilities and residential properties. Siemens hopes to continue to work with customers in the future to create a new era of intelligent and digital electrification in China," Mildner said.

"As the energy industry is at a critical juncture of transformation and upgrading, exploring the potential of flexible, clean distributed energy is an important route for the transformation, upgrading, innovation and development of energy systems in China," he added.

Mildner made his remarks at the launching ceremony of Guangzhou Suikai Smart Energy Co Ltd, the joint venture. Siemens holds a 35 percent stake in the company, with Suikai controlling the remaining 65 percent.

Suikai, a wholly owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Development District Investment Group, is a large integrated energy service provider and is licensed to operate electricity distribution networks in the province.

Guo Jiefeng, chairman of Guangzhou Development District Investment Group, said he believes the joint venture can use the opportunity of the new energy industry's ongoing development to fully integrate Siemens' advanced technologies and equipment, creating a model brand for the new energy industry in Guangzhou with innovative technologies, efficient management and excellent products.

Located in Guangzhou Development District's Science City, Guangzhou Suikai Smart Energy will provide comprehensive solutions and turnkey services for distributed energy systems, smart microgrids and grid system projects in Guangdong. (Source: China Daily)
