BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese authorities on Monday released a document to improve the rebates for the ports of shipment in an effort to promote construction of Shanghai international shipping center and development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

According to the document released jointly by the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs and the State Administration of Taxation, on the basis of the previous eight ports of shipment, China will add five new ports of shipment, including Luzhou Port in Luzhou city, Guoyuan Port in Chongqing Municipality, Yichang Port in Yichang city, Yongjia Port in Zhangjiagang city, and Langshan Port in Nantong city.

Meanwhile, on the basis of the previous Shanghai Yangshan Bonded Port Area, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Port Area is listed as the port of departure and Taicang Port in Suzhou, Longtan Port in Nanjing and Yangluo Port in Wuhan are designated as the ports of stopover.

Under the document, according to the export enterprise’s application, the customs authorities can handle the go-ahead procedures for the export cargos meeting requirements in the port of shipment or the port of stopover and then generate the electronic information of export goods declaration at the port of shipment. With the electronic information and relevant materials, the export enterprise can apply to relevant tax authorities for the rebates. (Edited by Hu Pingchao, hupingchao@xinhua.org)
