HANOI, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- The ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon), an annual competition for technology students and founded in 2002 by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, will be held in Vietnam's northern Ninh Binh province on Aug. 26, its organizers said on Wednesday.
The theme of ABU Robocon 2018 comes from "nem con" (shuttlecock throwing), a traditional game played by ethnic people in Vietnam's northern region in Spring Festival.
In the coming Robocon game, each team will use two robots. One robot is to hand a shuttlecock to the other which is to throw the shuttlecock through three rings at different heights.
At ABU Robocon 2017 in Japan, Lac Hong University from Vietnam became the champion.
