BEIJING, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Internet giant Tencent has signed deals with the city government of Zhuhai in South China's Guangdong Province and the authorities of Hengqin New District of Zhuhai to boost the development of the digital economy, domestic news site qq.com reported on Wednesday.
Hengqin is one of the free trade zones in the province.
The parties will cooperate on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data and mobile payments. Tencent will also work with local authorities in the fields of smart cities, smart transportation and smart medical care.
China is now a major player in digital technology with enormous growth potential, according to a report by McKinsey Global Institute released last week. (Global Times)
