BEIJING, Dec.14 (Xinhua)-- Dongfang Electric Corporation signed an agreement with Georgia Power Corporation on constructing a 300MW coal-fired power plant in Georgia. With an estimated investment of 250 million U.S. dollars, the power plant will meet the winter power consumption need of Georgia and supply power to Turkey in summer, according to www.bhi.com.cn.
Georgia also planned to construct its first underground natural gas storage facility. The total construction investment of the project will range from 250 million to 300 million U.S. dollars. After its completion, the project will store 250 million to 280 million cubic meters of natural gas from 2021 to 2022, approximately accounting for 15 percent of Georgia's total natural gas consumption.
