FRANKFURT, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Belt and Road Economic and Financial Information Partnership, initiated by China Economic Information Service (CEIS), an affiliate of Xinhua News Agency, was inaugurated on December 1 in Frankfurt, Germany.
CEIS signed Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the partnership with some 17 think-tanks and media outlets across Europe, including DPA-AFX (Germany), Class Editori (Italy), Metro (Britain), Polish News Agency, Athens News Agency, Tanjug News Agency (Serbia),The Financial World (Spain), and Thomas More Institute (France).

The newly-established Belt and Road Economic and Financial Information Partnership would benefit resources integration of financial media and think-tanks in the countries along the Belt and Road routes, and improve the level of international economic information cooperation, in a bid to provide better services for the Belt and Road construction, Wang Shunqing, Consul General of People’s Republic of China in Frankfurt said at the inaugural ceremony.
The partnership aims to build a "silk road of financial information", Kuang Lecheng, vice president of CEIS, said at the inaugural ceremony, underlining that CEIS has been dedicated to constructing "Xinhua Silk Road" platform to meet the demands of various clients who are in need of financial information pertaining to the Belt and Road Initiative.
Kuang emphasized that the inaugural ceremony is a starting point for the Belt and Road financial information partnership. He proposed the following suggestions on making full use of partnership and promoting information connectivity, including accelerating information sharing among partners, enhancing financial information collection and release, promoting business match-making, organizing offline economic and trade activities, realizing normalization of cooperation mechanism and strengthening personnel exchanges.
Leaders of the institutions under the partnership widely noted that the Belt and Road Initiative has created tremendous demand for economic information, which is a hard-won opportunity for global economic information providers. CEIS’s move to take the initiative to establish the Belt and Road financial information partnership has satisfied market demand to provide high-quality financial information for global users.
Rainer Finke, director of the International Sales and Marketing of DPA-AFX, noted that DPA-AFX expects to further enhance cooperation with CEIS under the Belt and Road Initiative to develop financial information business on the basis of its advantage in German market.
Paolo Panerai, CEO of the Italian media group Class Editori, said that the establishment of the Belt and Road financial information partnership is at the right time and it is convinced that the partnership will play a significant role in the future.

“Members of the Belt and Road financial information partnership have reached a consensus about building an information sharing platform, helping each other enter respective countries, jointly carrying out research on Belt and Road projects, which requires us to turn consensus into the real cooperation results,” said Huang Yong, Director of Europe Regional Bureau of Xinhua News Agency.

Xinhua Silk Road is a national information service platform focusing on the Belt and Road Initiative. By constructing four service systems, including databases in Chinese and English, credit investigation, counseling and think tank, matchmaking trading, it provides customers with information searching and release, information screening, personalized counseling, and matchmaking trading services related to Belt and Road construction.
