GUANGZHOU, Nov.29 (Xinhua) -- The 2017 Action Report on Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global along the Belt and Road was launched on Wednesday during "The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road" Forum on International Communication and Chinese (Guangdong) Companies Going Global, which was held from Tuesday to Thursday in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province.
The report, written jointly by the Information Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Research Center of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, is the the first provincial report to show local enterprises’ actions and their achievements attributable to the Belt and Road Initiative, which will provide useful references for China’s enterprises to participate in the Belt and Road construction.
Over the past four years, Guangdong responded actively to the Belt and Road Initiative and launched a series of policies and guiding documents to promote the participation of Guangdong enterprises in the Belt and Road construction in all aspects and at various levels, including promoting the infrastructure construction along the Belt and Road, optimizing the layout of regional investment, promoting international cooperation of production capacity, accelerating the construction of overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, and strengthening cultural exchanges and cooperation. It also sought to deepen its cooperation with the countries along the Belt and Road in trade, investment, transport facilities, cultural exchange, tourism, marine economy and other fields.
The report summarizes relevant polices and measures formulated by Guangdong government, which can reflect the province’s important actions in building a new opening-up pattern guided by the Belt and Road Initiative. Meanwhile, it specifies the main features of Guangdong enterprises’ participation in the Belt and Road construction in foreign trade, overseas investment, international economic cooperation, cultural exchanges and other aspects. The report meanwhile points out major opportunities and development directions brought by the Belt and Road Initiative for enterprises.
The report also shows successful cases of outstanding Guangdong enterprises’ exploration and experiences in participating in the Belt and Road construction. It reflects the concepts of common development, mutual benefit and win-win of enterprises in Guangdong with related countries while participating in the Belt and Road construction.
