ATHENS, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Modern art depictions of the creation myths of China is the main theme of an exhibit opening at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation on November 23.
"Chinese Creation Myths", a painting exhibition with free entrance that will run to December 3, is organized through the collaboration of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece with the Shanghai Fine Arts Association.
The creation myth show will include a smaller one with comics by distinguished Chinese artists, under the title "Creation of the World: Literary and Artistic Works on the Creation Myths of China". The comics depict adventure stories from the "period of chaos": the time between the 3rd and 6th centuries AD that saw six dynasties rule over the Asian country.
The organisers call on visitors to become acquainted with "artists who are backed by a long cultural tradition and come into contact with international art through modern ways and means."
A delegation from the artists' community in Shanghai will attend the inauguration. (Source: Athens News Agency; edited by Zhang Yuan, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
