BEIJING, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) - A report entitled “Renewable Energy for Industry” will be jointly issued by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and China Economic Information Service (CEIS) of Xinhua News Agency during a release conference to be held in Beijing later on Thursday.
The report, written by Cédric Philibert, senior analyst at Renewable Energy Division of IEA, is the latest research result of the IEA, and proposes a variety of current and forthcoming options to increase the uptake of renewables as one possible way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the industry sector.
During the conference, experts from the energy field will have in-depth discussions and talks on how to proceed with low-carbon production within the industry sector, and also on the significance and prospects of applying renewables into Chinese industry sector.
The attendees of the release conference will mainly include Cédric Philibert, the report author, Liang Zhipeng, deputy director of the new energy and renewable energy department of China’s National Energy Administration (NEA), Cao Wenzhong, vice president of CEIS, Wang Zhongying, deputy director general of Energy Research Institute of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, Li Junfeng, director of China’s National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation as well as several other senior energy experts.
