BEIJING, Nov.7 (Xinhua) – A total of ten Israel bioscience startups competed in the final of 2017 China-Israel Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in the eastern China city of Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, on Monday.
Brainsway Ltd., a company engaged in the development of medical devices that use H-coilfor deep transcranial magnetic stimulation as a noninvasive treatment for depression, won first place and 10,000 U.S. dollars in the competition.
On the sideline of the competition, a business-to-business meeting was held in the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park, attracting more than 200 Chinse enterprises to talk business with Israel finalists.
According to the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park, the competition is expected to take place annually and allow all global startups to participate in the contest.
The China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park, launched in January 2015, is a bi-national governmental initiative that provides a platform for China-Israel industry cooperation. By far, there are 68 Israel companies and cooperation projects in the park.
A preliminary competition of companies in the areas of bioscience and information and communication technology (ICT) was held in Israel from July 31 to August 3, 2017. The final contest of ICT companies will be held in Beijing on Wednesday. (Edited by Ding Lei, dinglei@xinhua.org)
