ATHENS, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- The second meeting for the three-year Greece-China Action Plan taking place in Athens on Thursday was "a very important step" for promoting economic cooperation between the two countries, Deputy Economy Minister Stergios Pitsiorlas stated to the Athens Macedonian News Agency (ANA), speaking on the sidelines of the meeting.
"It is the second meeting of the two countries' working groups to promote the Action Plan we signed in May in Beijing. It is a major investment programme in very important fields of the economy, such as transport, energy and telecommunications, and our efforts are focused on the specifying the details of the projects and the signing of agreements between Greek and Chinese enterprises," said Pitsiorlas.
He added that "many agreements and memoranda of cooperation will be signed today" and expressed his certainty that now "we are on the implementation course of the three-year programme, which includes very important investments".
The Chinese delegation was led by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) vice head Ning Jizhe and the Greek one by Deputy Economy and Development Minister Stergios Pitsiorlas, who is also the government's coordinator on all Greece-China issues.
