CHENGDU, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- China’s Tongwei Group saw its promotional video themed by “Tongwei – for a better life” screened on New York Times Square’s “China Screen” on Wednesday.
Over the past 35 years, Tongwei has developed into a leading enterprise in the industries of agriculture and PV new energy with annual sales of nearly 60 billion yuan. Tongwei’s brand value has hit 45.062 billion yuan this year.
Tongwei has been intensifying its industrial operations since its entry into the PV new energy industry in 2006. It has established a complete industrial chain involving upstream high-purity crystalline silicon, midstream high-efficiency cells and downstream PV power plants.
Tongwei’s Industry 4.0 High-Efficiency Cell Production Line – the first of its kind in the world – went into operation on September 20 this year. This production line represents ‘Tongwei’s intelligent manufacturing’. It has initiated the transformation for China’s solar cell manufacturing.
“Tongwei has built plants in several Southeast Asian and South Asian countries and regions. Tongwei’s move to go global by entering the Times Square, known as a stage for the world’s brands, in the context of global resource allocation and under the Belt and Road Initiative, is the need of its brand strategy of expediting globalization,” said Tongwei chairman Liu Hanyuan.
Using 3D animation in blue-and-white porcelain patterns, the 15-second promotional video features Tongwei’s innovative model that integrates over-water power generation and underwater fish culture. The video showcases the company’s brand spirit and corporate image of integrating modern aquaculture with PV power generation and seeking clean and green development for “creating a good life”.
Operated by the Xinhua News Agency since August 2011, “China Screen” is the second screen on Tower 2 at the Times Square. Several Chinese brands, including Gree, Wuliangye and JD.com, have appeared on this screen. This screen is said to be a suitable window for the global projection of Chinese enterprises.
