BEIJING, Sept.26 (Xinhua) -- China International Economic Cooperation and Investment Inc., working under the aegis of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Shanghai Haicheng Resources (Group) Co., Ltd. have recently entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to expand “China-Tajikistan Industrial Park” – China’s first industrial park in Tajikistan and the largest China-Tajikistan cooperation project – into “Tajikistan North Nonferrous Metal Industrial Park”, thereby broadening and deepening China-Tajikistan mining cooperation.
The project of China-Tajikistan Industrial Park was determined under the MOU between Haicheng Group and the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan in September 2014.
According to the report of the People's Daily, Tajikistan North Nonferrous Metal Industrial Park is planed to have an annual dressing and processing capacity of 6 million tonnes of non-ferrous metal and to yield an annual output of around 350,000 tonnes of metals, including copper, lead and zinc, according to the cooperation agreement.
As the first project in China-Tajikistan Industrial Park, the Tajikistan-China ore smelting works is about to be completed. (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
