BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The loan agreement for the expressway project, connecting the Antananarivo Ivato International Airport and the Boulevard De L'europe, was signed on September 8 in Antananarivo, capital of Madagascar.
China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) will construct the project, with preferential buyer credit from the Export-Import Bank of China.
With a full length of some 18.7 kilometers and a construction period of 18 months, the project will be designed and constructed in accordance with Chinese standards. The connection line has completed construction in 2017 and served Sommet de la Francophonie. Madagascar and CRBC will jointly operate the project after its completion.
The project is Madagascar's first-ever project receiving preferential buyer credit from China, the first framework project between China and Madagascar in the recent decade, as well as the first infrastructural project constructed and operated by a Chinese enterprise in Madagascar.
