BEIJING, Aug. 30 (Xinhua)-- UnionPay International and Belarus's largest commercial bank Belarus Bank signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement in Minsk, capital city of Belarus.
According to the agreement, the two sides agreed that all the ATMs and merchants will accept the UnionPay cards in 2018, and will cooperate in the local issuance of the card and the promotion of innovative UnionPay products.
In recent years, China and Belarus have reached close cooperation in the trade flow, and infrastructure construction, which is leading to rising needs for cross-border payment.
Ge Huayong, chairman of UnionPay said at the signing ceremony that along with the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, the busienss of UnionPay cards will make breakthroughs in the Belarusian market. (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
