August 23, 2017

Abstract : Wigs can be an amazing way for people to alter their appearance and look more stylish if they choose.

DHAKA, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Wigs can be an amazing way for people to alter their appearance and look more stylish if they choose.

The everyday look of women in particular can become spectacular and varied if she has a stunning collection of wigs.

A Chinese company in Bangladesh has been making such wigs for years, especially for women in Europe, America, Canada and Australia.

The MGL Company BD Ltd., operated by Chinese business man Liu Cheng, has also created employment opportunities for nearly 2,000 Bangladeshi people, mostly female, who work in their factory in western Bangladesh.

Founded in 2013, the MGL factory is located in Bangladesh's Ishwardi Export Processing Zone in the Pabna district, about 216 km west of the capital city of Dhaka.

The factory makes different sorts of stylish hair extensions composed of both human and artificial hair.

Also in the factory, wigs are glued to the heads of plastic dolls before being exported to developed markets in Europe, America and elsewhere in the world.

The factory's workers process hair into a variety of styles, including curly extensions and full wigs.

Ziaur Rahman, assistant general manager of MGL Company Bangladesh Ltd., said their dolls featuring real human hair are very famous.

Such dolls are used in barber shops for basic training of novice hair dressers and beauticians, he said.

They practice cutting hair and putting the hair into stylish designs on these dolls, he added.

"It's very popular all over the Europe, the U.S., Canada, Japan and Australia as we are really focused on improving the products' quality and production."

Rahman said they collect raw materials for making wigs from China.

Company insiders say MGL has seen robust production growth over the years as the company ensures an excellent work atmosphere by offering competitive wages to its hundreds of workers and staff who are mostly Bangladeshis.

Nasima, one of the MGL workers, said it was the Chinese company that helped her to secure employment.

"Thanks to this Chinese company building their factory in Bangladesh, I was hired to work in the hair section. It's great for us because we have reliable employment here," she said.

Another factory worker Zahura said that apart from her decent salary, she is also given performance bonuses.

"I can now buy many things for my daughter and I, as well as contribute money to my family to keep it running well. So, I love this job," she said, adding that her Chinese bosses are kind and gentle.

The general supervisor of the factory Rafiqul Islam said MGL has developed a lot over the years.

"Our production levels have nearly doubled compared with the past. The quality of our products is good and the living standards of our workers has also improved a lot," he said.

He added that the factory's neat and clean appearance and timely payment of salaries and other financial benefits, including overtime pay, made it one of the best Chinese factories in Bangladesh.

MGL really has earned a good name in Bangladesh for China and its manufacturers, Rafiqul said.
