BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Tongwei Co., Ltd. (600438. SH) ranked the 290th in the list of the Fortune China 500 Companies in 2017, according to a recent report by the FORTUNEChina.com.
It is reported that the top 500 companies in China this year saw a total operating income of 33.54 trillion yuan, up 9 percent year on year, with the net profits standing at 2.8 trillion yuan, up 2.2 percent year on year.
According to the report, Tongwei ranked the 367th in the list in 2016. This year, it realized 20.884 billion yuan of operating income, up 48.3 percent year on year, with 1.025 billion yuan of profits, up 209.4 percent year on year.
Powered with “agriculture and solar energy” as twin engines for development, Tongwei demonstrated its strong development potential. Tongwei has devoted itself to aquaculture industry for 35 years. Aquatic feed business represents more than 20 percent of national market share, which has ranked No. 1 in China for two decades.
2017 marks the 10th year for Tongwei in the solar energy industry. After the 10-year overall arrangement, Tongwei has formed a complete industrial chain from crystalline silicon, battery piece to photovoltaic power generation in the new energy sector.
At present, Yongxiang Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Tongwei Group, boasts a high-purity crystalline silicon production capacity of 20,000 metric tons (tonnes), and takes pride in the third-ranking production capacity and industry-leading technology in China.
