CCCC signs USD 170 mln contract for automated terminal

Abstract : China Communications Construction Company, Ltd. (CCCC) has signed an EPC contract with Abu Dhabi Oceangate Container Terminal LLC for the automated terminal of the storage yard of the second phase of Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port.

BEIJING, July 17 (Xinhua) -- China Communications Construction Company, Ltd. (CCCC) has signed an EPC contract with Abu Dhabi Oceangate Container Terminal LLC for the automated terminal of the storage yard of the second phase of Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port.

Abu Dhabi Oceangate Container Terminal LLC is a subsidiary of China COSCO Shipping Corporation, Ltd.

According to CCCC, implementation of this contract will not only have a positive influence on its performance, but will also help maintain its coverage in the global port machinery market and effectively improve its brand influence.

According to China Cosco Shipping Corporation, Ltd., its subsidiary, COSCO Shipping Ports Ltd., signed a contract with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (Group) Co., Ltd. in Shanghai on July 10 regarding quay cranes and automated rail-mounted gantry cranes for the COSCO Abu Dhabi Khalifa Port Phase II project.

This agreement involves 11 quayside container cranes, 24 automated rail-mounted gantry cranes and eight empty container cranes. The equipment will be delivered in batches, and the first batch of the new cranes will be put into operation by the end of December, 2018.
