BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Youku Tudou and the Shanghai Theatre Academy announced today to establish partnership on online video production and talent training, an expansion for the online video giant to invest in upstream content production.
Chinese consumers are willing to pay for high-quality original online dramas, which require huge investment and rich talent resources.
The local theatre academy has rich experience and talent resource for drama production. The cooperation between online video industry and professional academies are expected to create more high-quality and popular online drama titles within two or three years, said Yang Weidong, Youku Tudou's president.
