BEIJING, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian conglomerate Ly Yong Phat Group (LYP Group) signed a 1.5-billion-US-dollar deal with Chinese property developer SRE Group recently to build a China-Cambodia friendship city on the northern suburb of Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh.
The project covers an area of 550 hectares and its gross floor area exceeds 5 million square meters.
The project includes a convention center, hotels, a golf course, schools, logistics centers and amusement parks, said LYP Group’s Managing Director Seng Nhak.
The project will further improve Phnom Penh’s infrastructure construction and the city’s urban construction level.
In September, SRE bought French bank Societe Generale's London headquarters office for 84.5 million pounds.
Established in 1993, SRE Group was listed on the main board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1999. (Edited by Yang Yifan, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
