BEIJING, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Sinohydro Corporation Limited on February 8 inked a contract for the bridge construction project with the highway bureau under the transport minstry of Bangladesh in its capital city Dacca.
The contract is worth 57.18 million U.S. dollars that were provided by Bangladeshi government and the Saudi Fund for Development. Project construction is scheduled for completion in 36 months, including building the main bridge, viaduct, and channel revetment.
The construction of the bridge aims to solve the local traffic problems, make the traffic from Dacca to the port city Chittagong and northern city Sylhet more convenient, and boost the economic and social development of the surrounding areas. Enditem (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
