BEIJING, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Power Construction Corp of China, Ltd. (601669.SH) has signed a contract with Rwanda Transport Development Board for a road reconstruction project in Rwanda, East Africa.
Located in east Rwanda, the 60-kilometer road runs from the border between Uganda and Rwanda in the north. A vital road connecting Rwanda with Uganda and Tanzania, it will be widened with its pavement upgraded into asphalt concrete, according to the Chinese contractor.
The project also includes building drainage structures and auxiliary facilities, repairing six milk collecting stations, and building 10 drinking water wells and a weight station. Construction of the project is scheduled for completion in 24 months.
The project, expected to boost local economic development upon completion, is mainly financed by the European Union (EU), the African Development Bank Group and the Rwandan government. Enditem (Edited by Ma Xin, maxin11@xinhua.org)
