BEIJING, Dec.26 (Xinhua) -- China Everbright International Limited (Everbright International) announced that it had inked the investment agreement on Can Tho waste-to-energy project in Vietnam and obtained the project investment license issued by the municipal government.
The Can Tho project would be invested, built and operated by Everbright International for an operating period of 22 years (including construction period), with total investment estimated at approximately 47 million U.S. dollars, the company said in a website release.
The project is designed to have a daily household waste processing capacity of 400 tonnes and will be equipped with a 7.5MW power generator. It is expected to generate about 60 million kwh of green electricity annually.
The construction work is expected to start in mid-2017, and complete for operations in 2018.
The project will be the first waste-to-energy project in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam, as well as Everbright International's first environmental protection project in Vietnam, the company said. Enditem (Edited by Niu Huizhe, niuhuizhe@xinhua.org)
